It should not be a thing. You are not better than anybody because you’ve made a smart commitment. Your liver may function more efficiently, but you are not a better person. Why are you better than someone else just because they like to have a glass of wine with their holiday dinner once or twice a year? I don’t like drinking, and I wish that people didn’t, but drinking isn’t just something that teenage punks do because they’re rebellious. It’s actually a cultural thing, sometimes. Are you better than someone else because they were raised differently than you were? Absolutely not! They can’t help that they were raised a certain way or that they were born in a different place. I will claim edge until the day I die, and I hope that my legacy will live on after my time on earth is over, but I can’t expect people to see things my way if I’m being ignorant and ignoring their situation. It’s so frustrating to me to see people make such an intelligent, profound choice for their life, and throw their intelligence away because someone else lives their life a little differently.
