Doctor Who: The Doctor, The Widow & The Wardrobe

I liked it but it felt very short.

It was not action packed by any means but had a lot of charm and funny moments for sure, I’d say it was the second funniest Who Special next to the one with Donna getting married as that one is amazingly hilarious what with the combo of David & Catherine debuting in Doctor Who. 

This special was still worth the wait, it showcased what Matt Smith is best at and that is charm. He brings the humor and silliness of The Doctor out whenever hes on screen and I love it, however I have yet to really buy him as a feared being across all space and time, 9 and 10 had that badass side along with being silly but 11 is not quite there for me. He did have some badass moments though, especially throughout season 6 (like in the finale hes a total genius and also when Amy’s baby is taken and he crashes in there all badass).

This special was not as awesome as last years which I enjoyed very much as it was action packed, had lots of great themes and also payed homage to one of the best stories ever told, The Christmas Carol.

I certainly hope they do more specials this coming year so we don’t have to wait forever to see series 7 but either way it will be worth the wait!

7/10 for me, this special was not bad by any means but not exceptional like the specials usually are.

So if you know me, you’ll already know that my favourite comedy and holiday movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. It will never not be hilarious to me, it’s a classic.

In that film Chevy Chase’s character Clark Griswold is seen wearing a Chicago Blackhawks jersey identical to this one and I have always wanted it. I have no interest in hockey but it always stood out to me and this year my mum found it online for me and got it. It is by far the coolest piece of movie memorbelia that I have collected so far and it helped make my christmas seem incredible even when it didn’t feel like it at first. As I’ve gotten older I’ve lost that sense of magic that generally is attached to Christmas but now it’s back, and it’s amazing!
