#NewFilm Drive [Slight Spoilers]
So umm for those of you who haven’t seen Drive yet as it is a newer film I’ll refrain from plot spoils but DAMN! That was a beauty!
As a film nerd that flick touched me. Right on my erect cock which I had from the opening scene as it was such a rush. This film is cool, suave, and has a retro feel as it pays tribute to 80’s crime/action flicks. It’s been a long while since I’ve seen a movie this cool, I will for sure be buying this the next time I get out to a store.
Also I must say I never have doubted that Ryan Gosling has great acting chops but he certainly earned badass status with this film. He’s such a tough guy yet within reality. When he takes the hammer to that guys hand in the room with all the women and he talks on the phone about the money he’s shaking from adrenaline as he just fucked a guy up. Not many films address how intense doing all the badass movie things would be, usually the hero of the story just does it like its nothing, the Bruce Willis school of acting. Gosling did a great job, also great to see Bryan Cranston, he had a small role but he dives right into it and brings the character to life. My only issue with the film was that Ryan Gosling hardly said anything, his character was cool but not all that interesting or anything but that also added to his mystique, his character is simply referred to as “The Driver” which is pretty badass.
Go buy/rent/download this movie if you like action flicks, especially if you want to see an action film that isn’t all stylized and packed with celebrities, this film has such spirit and it has an indie movie feel, partly due to its retro feel I think. Also the soundtrack is very unique and fits the style very well and carries the mood nicely.
My final remark would have to be how sensational that kiss scene in the elevator was. If you haven’t seen it check it out, even if you don’t intend to check the movie out, take a look at that scene as its honestly beautiful.
10/10 - It was exactly what it promised and more. If you like action films or just well made films give this a go, you’ll have a great time.
